For the past 64 years, I have been married to my wife Phyllis.
Fate was especially kind to me when I met her. For whatever
success I may have attained in my life, I owe in most part to
being married to her. She claims I married her for her money,
knowing she had $600 in the bank when we married. She helped me
get my education and has been there for me ever since. My only
advice to married people is to love and respect each other. This
will get you through the difficult times we all experience in
our lives. Make the most of every day; for there comes a time
when memories play a big part in your life.
I enjoy
visiting my two children, two grandchildren and one
great-grandchild. I also enjoy crossword puzzles and playing
golf.
One day, I saw a notice in the newspaper stating that they were
looking for volunteers for a program which assists people who
need immediate support. The program was called TIP. After being
accepted and through the training, I attended the first meeting
and ever since have been amazed at the wonderfully dedicated
volunteers who are in this program. I think it’s incredible how
they find time to volunteer and lead their busy daily lives. My
hat’s off to all of them! I know I have become more appreciative
of how fortunate I am since becoming a TIP volunteer. How long
do I plan on being a TIP volunteer? Indefinitely. Three (3)
years is only the beginning!
